Terms and Conditions

Plant Scholar is a plantation tracking and scholarship platform connecting Field Surveyors, Project Managers, Administrators, Donors, Landowners ("Plot Partners"), and General Users around geo-tagged tree plantation, growth monitoring, and donation/payment record-keeping.

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account or otherwise use the Service. We do not accept registrations from, and do not knowingly permit use of the Service by, anyone under the age of 13, regardless of parental or guardian consent. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this age requirement. If you believe a user of the Service is under 13, please contact us at info@plantscholar.org.

You must provide accurate registration information and keep your password confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at info@plantscholar.org if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

• Field Surveyors are responsible for submitting accurate tree, field, and measurement data, including location and photos.
• Project Managers, Administrators, and Donors are responsible for reviewing and acting on submissions and payment records within their assigned scope in good faith.
• Landowners ("Plot Partners") are responsible for the accuracy of the land/field information they provide.

Donation and payment-dispatch records on the Service are a record-keeping ledger only. Plant Scholar does not itself process, guarantee, or hold funds, and is not a party to any underlying payment arrangement between users.

You agree not to:

• Submit false, fraudulent, or misleading tree, measurement, donation, or payment data;
• Attempt to access accounts, data, or system areas you are not authorized to access;
• Interfere with, disrupt, or reverse-engineer the Service;
• Scrape or harvest data from the Service without our written permission; or
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable law, including the laws of Bangladesh.

You retain ownership of photos, documents, and other content you upload ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you grant Plant Scholar a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, use, reproduce, and display it for the purposes of operating the Service and reporting on plantation and environmental impact (for example, in aggregated or de-identified impact dashboards). You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to submit any User Content you upload.

Our Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information, and is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, misuse the Service, or submit fraudulent data. You may stop using the Service, and request deletion of your account, at any time.

You can delete your account at any time. If you use our mobile app, go to Settings and tap Delete account in the Danger Zone, then confirm - your account is closed immediately and you are signed out. If you do not have access to the app, you can instead request deletion by contacting us at info@plantscholar.org; we close your account within 30 days of verifying your identity. Once your account is closed, you can no longer sign in and your account is hidden from everyone. 30 days after your account is closed, we permanently erase your personal data, except for the records we are permitted or required to retain (donation/payment ledger integrity, legal/audit obligations, and environmental impact records no longer linked to you) described in our Privacy Policy. Until your personal data is erased, the phone number and email address on your account cannot be used to create a new account. For step-by-step instructions, see Delete your account.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the accuracy of satellite/GIS-based monitoring data, the outcome of any donation or scholarship, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Plant Scholar and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, or for the conduct of other users, donors, landowners, or Field Surveyors on the Service.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Bangladesh, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
